Confessing Jesus as Lord

There is a lot of debate today about Jesus. In fact, there are many more people who do not believe He existed or who believe He was just a man than those who believe in Him as Lord. The ones who are against Jesus are getting more and more opposed to any belief in Jesus. It makes it a challenge for us to stand up for Him in public today. However, it is essential for us to confess Jesus as Lord to be saved. (Romans 10:9, 13) Paul makes that perfectly clear. We have to have faith in the fact that God raised Jesus from the dead to prove He was Lord once and for all. Therefore, it is only those who call on the name of the Lord Jesus who will be saved. Once we are truly saved, we will not be silent about who Jesus is. We will confess to others that Jesus is Lord of all. We must not miss this truth of  salvation.

God gave us a mouth and a voice to express what we believe. The Bible makes it clear that what comes out of our mouth comes from our heart. None of us can confess Jesus as Lord unless we truly believe in our heart first. If we cannot confess Jesus as Lord, it shows that we have not really believed on Him in our heart. All of this is why we ask people to pray out loud to receive Jesus as Lord and to make it public. When we call on the name of the Lord, we are believing in the nature and character of Jesus. We trust Him to be the One who died and rose again for our salvation. That is when we are saved. This shows us why there are no "secret disciples." Once we know Jesus as Lord, we will stand up for Him no matter what the people of this world do to us.
