No Delay to Keep God's Commandments
I have seen a lot of hesitancy in people over the years when it comes to keeping the commandments of the Lord. This hesitancy extends from attending worship services to participating in Bible study groups and tithing. It seem that many of us think we have some reason not to be subject to God's commandments. It could be that we think it is not necessary for us to keep them, but it is. All of God's commandments are for our good. We should never hesitate to keep all of them completely. The psalmist gave us a good example of what we should all do. (Psalm 119:59-60) He considered his ways and turned his feet to God's testimonies. He hastened or hurried to do God's commandments without any delay. We should all do the same thing.
The Bible tells us that God looks at our heart. Yes, He judges our actions, too. However, if our actions are correct, but our heart is not right, God doesn't receive our actions fully. When God sees that we don't really want to submit to Him, He knows something is wrong. He calls for us to abide in His Word. That means we live in it, and do all of it by applying the commandments and principles in how we live every day. If we fail to do that, we are not abiding in the Word of God, we are just using it when it is convenient for us. God can't honor that mindset. He wants to see us fully embrace His laws for our lives, so that we hurry to do them, and we never delay in being obedient. Please, remember that partial obedience is disobedience. Let's consider our ways and turn fully to God, keeping all of His commandments with an eager heart.
