The Nations in an Uproar

It seems that the whole world is in an uproar now. They are not so much against each other as they are against one enemy. That is enemy is the Lord and the people who follow Jesus. They are devising ways to stop Christians from practicing our beliefs and from spreading the gospel to others. (Psalm 2:1-3) This is exactly how it was when Jesus came to earth to minister for 3 years and then to die for our sins. They saw power slipping away from them, and they were in an uproar. They took counsel together, Herod, Pilate, and the Jewish leaders, to kill Jesus and get rid of Him once and for all. They did not want any cords of restraint on them or their power. However, God thwarted their plans when He raised Jesus from the dead. I believe we see this around us everywhere today.

The people who do not know the Lord think that life would be great if they could simply do whatever they want to do. They do not want any constraints on what they can do, say, or believe. We have come to the place where a man can declare himself to be a woman or a woman declare herself to be a man. Then, everyone else has to accept this decision without question. The problem is that this reasoning goes against science and the Word of God. The governments of the world are passing laws to make this totally acceptable, while some countries are declaring Christianity to be illegal. I say all of this to show that Psalm 2 was true in Jesus' day, it is true now, and it will be true as long as the Lord tarries. We, as believers, must accept this state of affairs and remain faithful to Jesus and the Bible, no matter what happens to us. We are to be the salt and the light, so if we compromise, the truth is lost for anyone to come to the Lord Jesus for salvation. In fact, we must speak up against this uproar with calm voices of reason and compassion for all people.
