God Can Do Anything

 Faith is trusting God. It means to believe that He can do something and to depend on Him to do it. Part of faith is knowing God and knowing what He can do and what He will do, since He never does anything outside of His will. Therefore, to have the faith in God He wants us to have we must believe that He can do anything. Paul told us this in no uncertain terms. (Ephesians 3:20) God is able to do far more than we could ever imagine or guess or request in our wildest dreams. He does it in His power which is boundless and not by pushing us, but working deeply and gently within us. When we get this truth, we are all set to have true faith in the Lord of All.

God has shown us in His inspired Word, the Bible, that He has done things that are more than we could ever imagine. He parted the Red Sea so about 2 million people walked across on dry land, but it closed up to drown the entire Egyptian army. God is able to do more than we could ever guess that He would do. He became a man by being born of a virgin in Bethlehem, the God/Man, Jesus. He did this so God could die for our sins and rise again. Who would have guessed that was God's plan from the beginning? He is able to do more than we could ever request. God has answered the prayers of so many people and for us, and He always did it in the perfect way, much better than we could have asked. It is amazing how He works within us so deeply and gently to change us into new creatures in Christ and to empower us by His Spirit to do His will without forcing us. Truly, this ought to inspire us to great faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
