Courage Surged Up Within Me

We all need courage on a daily basis. Some of us have more than others. A lack of courage causes us to fail to do the hard things according to God's will. However, when we have courage as God desires for us, we are able to do whatever we are called upon to do. Daniel was searching for God's will, and he wanted to be able to know what would happen to him and God's people. As he prayed and sought the Lord, God sent His angel to strengthen Daniel and give him courage for the task ahead. (Daniel 10:18,19) After this, Daniel was fully prepared to hear from the Lord and do whatever He desired. I pray we would receive what Daniel received and be prepared for God's will to be done in and through us, as well.

Fear is common. In fact, if we do not have God's help, our lives will be ruled by all types of fear. Fear will stop us from thinking right and acting right. We must do whatever it takes to seek the Lord and rid our lives of those fears. God has assured us that He has not given us the spirit of fear. Instead, He has given us the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. (II Timothy 1:7)  The spirit of power is what Daniel felt surging up within him. The power of God filling us gives us courage, because we know that we do not have to act in our own limitations, but in God's limitless power. Like David's fight with Goliath, the giant, we will know that the Lord will fight for us and give us the victory as we stand in His power. Please, be assured that this is God's plan for each believer. If we seek Him like Daniel did, we will find Him, and He will give us courage.
