God Wrestler
When Jacob left Laban to go back home, he was still very afraid of Esau wanting to kill him. He had been away for 20 years, and God had blessed him greatly. However, He still was not sure God would protect him and his family. Therefore, he sent Esau generous gifts from his flocks and herds. He also divided his family into sections to protect them from attack. He stayed behind on the other side of the river for the night. I believe he was praying, so the Lord came to him, and he wrestled with the Lord to get a blessing. Jacob would not let go, so the Lord asked him his name. He replied correctly this time, unlike when Isaac asked him. Then, God gave him the name Israel or God Wrestler. (Genesis 32:27,28) I believe we all need to wrestle with God.
God is the only One who can protect us and really bless us. We need to pray so faithfully that we do not stop until we get His direction, protection, and blessing. It takes perseverance and discipline. We must be fervent in our prayer, sincerely crying out to God. Then, God will bless us for our dependence on Him. He will protect us, like He protected Jacob and His family. He will bless us in so many ways. However, we can't give up until we get through. I pray we will all be persistent in prayer to wrestle with God and prevail for a blessing.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Genesis 34-37.
