Give God All the Glory
Pride is a terrible thing. The feeling that we can accomplish things on our own without God's help will get us into a lot of trouble. God is due all of the glory for all we ever accomplish that is worthwhile. He gives us the breath in our lungs. He gives us intelligence, and He blesses us with gifts and abilities to do whatever we do. That is why we have to be so careful not to fall into the trap Assyria fell into in Isaiah's time. (Isaiah 10:15) God used them as a tool of His wrath to destroy Israel. They thought they did it themselves, and they were boasting about their power. After using them, God destroyed them, too, because of them taking the glory from Him.
When we fail to give God the glory for the good things we are able to do, it is like an ax exalting itself above the one who chops with it. That is absurd, but that is what some of us do. Our pride causes us to be like a saw that magnifies itself against the one who saws with it. That is just silly, but so are we when we take the glory. We are just a rod or a staff in God's hand when we do His will. We can do nothing on our own. (John 15:5) I pray that we will remember this truth and be quick to reject pride when it rises up, so we can give God all of the glory every time.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 11-13,
