Righteous Judging

There are cases when we have to make a judgment about what happened in a particular situation and who was at fault. The kind of judging we are not supposed to do is when we criticize other people, especially their motives. However, God wants us to look at the facts and judge in a just way. The problem is that many people and even real judges make decisions based n the people being tried and not on the facts of the case.  God hates this type of unjust judging. (Leviticus 19:15) We all need to hear this principle loud and clear.

Someone once said, "Justice is blind." What this saying means is that to judge rightly we can't make our decision based on the appearance of the people involved or their socio-economic status. I am afraid this rule gets broken all of the time. Sometimes, a poor person is given partiality which breaks the law, or a rich person is shown preference, which is unjust as well. However, it could be the other way around. The poor could be mistreated unfairly, and the rich could be convicted just because they have a lot of wealth. Neither way pleases God. He wants us to make a just decision based on the facts and the law, showing no partiality, at all. That is what He will do at the Judgment one day, and He wants us to do the same here, until we go to stand before Him.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Leviticus 20-22.
