My Grace is Sufficient
Yesterday, I gave a few definitions of grace. Well, there is one more we need to understand. Grace is also God's supernatural enabling in our lives, as believers, so we can do whatever we need to do to accomplish His will. Yes, we can't do a lot of things in our own power, but in His power all things are possible. Paul learned this lesson from the "thorn in the flesh" God would not take away from him. Whether it was Paul's eyesight or something else, it caused him to be weak, so he asked God to take away the affliction. God would not remove it, because He wanted to be Paul's' strength. (II Corinthians 12:9) We need to learn the same lesson, or else we will never enjoy God's grace for everyday living.
When we are weak, if we will depend on God, then, He will pour out His strength into us by His grace. He enables us to do things that we could not have done, if we were completely strong in every way, physically, mentally, and emotionally. The key is our submission to Him. We have to admit our weakness, even boast in it, so that the power of God may rest upon us. When it does, our power is made perfect in our weaknesses. We have His perfect power working in us to accomplish just what He intends to do in and through us. The question is, "Will we submit?; will we boast in our weaknesses or try to hide them?; will we allow the power of God to freely rest upon us?" It is all up to us, because God is ready to pour out His grace in our lives.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Corinthians 13 and Galatians 1-3.
