Ambassadors for Christ
All believers live in a foreign country. Yes, ware all citizens of heaven, so in whatever country we find ourselves, it is not our home country. We are here to fulfill the ministry of reconciliation. Since we have been reconciled to God through the blood of Jesus Christ, our Lord, we have been given this ministry to see others reconciled, too. Therefore, we are here as ambassadors for Christ. Just like an ambassador of the United States lives in a foreign country to represent our president and our country in that place, we are Christ's representatives here. (II Corinthians 5:20) It is essential for all believers to grasp this truth and to apply it in their lives.
God came to earth in the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ. He brought the message of God to us. He taught the truth and lived the truth for 33 years or so. Then, He ascended back to heaven after His death and resurrection. He left the believers here to represent Him and His kingdom in this world. In fact, now He is making His appeal through us. We are His mouth, His Hands, and His feet, imploring people on His behalf to be reconciled to God. Therefore, we must show others how sin has separated us from God, but Jesus paved the way for our cleansing and reconciliation. Then, we appeal to them according to God's Word and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. This way God's ambassadors are used to bring people into right relationship with God. Therefore, I pray we will all be a good ambassador for Christ every day and see many people reconciled to God through Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Corinthians 6-8.
