Tell How Much the Lord has Done for You
When we come to know Jesus, and He changes our lives in fantastic ways, it is normal to want to spend time with Him and with other believers. We need time with the Lord in prayer and Bible study, and we are strengthened by our fellowship with other believers. However, we cannot neglect to reach out to our friends and family to tell them what the Lord has done for us. That is essential as a believer, if we are to follow Jesus well. That is why Jesus denied the formerly demon possessed man, when he asked to go with Jesus and His disciples. (Mark 5:18,19) We all need to learn this valuable, life saving truth.
We have influence with our friends and family that no one else has. They knew us before our salvation, and they are able to see the difference in us, after we come to the Lord. If they can't see a change, then something is terribly wrong. When we go tell them how much the Lord has done for us and how He was merciful to us to forgive our sins, it will make an impact on them that could result in them receiving eternal life. That is the greatest thing we can do to honor the Lord after He has been so good to us. It is also God's plan for reaching the whole world with the good news of salvation. Each of us, telling our story where we live every day and allowing the gospel to spread is the best way and the only way to see the world come to Christ. The demoniac, Legion, went and obeyed Jesus. Will we do the same? The eternal destiny of our friends, our family, and our world depends on us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Mark 6-8.
