God's Command for His People
Having God's favor is really pretty simple for believers. It is not necessary to know all of the Bible or to have hundreds of verses memorized. It is not a matter of working hard for Him and doing a lot of things that we don't want to do. It has everything to do with hearing from the Lord. Then, when we hear from Him, and He can make Himself known to His people, we obey what He says. Then, He will be our God,and we will be His people. (Jeremiah 7:23) When you think about it, that is a simple definition for faith in God.
Faith is always believing what God has said to us personally or in His Word. When we hear from Him, we have a faith decision to make. Will we trust Him enough to act upon what He says? That is what it takes, because faith without works is dead. It is dead faith. It is not faith at all. However, God loves to see us exercise faith in Him while being sensitive to His voice, trying to hear everything He says to us. When we do that, we can be assured that He will be our God and make things go well for us, His people. It does not mean that we will never have troubles, but it means, He will walk with us through whatever comes.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 8-10.
