Creator and Owner of the Earth
God created the earth and all of the people and animals. Therefore, by virtue of it being His creation, He owns it. As the Owner, He can give it to whomever He pleases. (Jeremiah 27:5) I believe this is very logical, but people today fail to understand this simple truth. It is because they refuse to admit the divine creation of the world. They do that so they can try to do away with the guilt of living their own way, instead of how God wants them to live. However, this avoidance of reality causes them other problems, too.
People just will not accept the fact that God is in control of His creation, and we are His creation. Yes, He has given us a free will to choose Him as our Lord and Savior, as well as making other decisions. I am referring to the fact that Jeremiah gave us. God can give the earth and its inhabitants at any given time in history to a particular ruler or nation. He causes the rise and fall of nations. It is God who controls the elections and the ultimate selection of the important leaders of the earth. Sometimes, He gives us the rulers we need, but other times, He gives us the rulers we deserve. It is scary to see this working in the world today. There is so much evil in the people of earth today. God hates that sin, so He does what it takes to show His displeasure with the nations that are the most sinful. Sometimes, He allows them to be overtaken by their enemies, like happened to Israel and Judah. I just have to wonder what He will do here in American if we do not get on the right track soon and stay there.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 28-30.
