The Blessing of Observing Justice

The psalmist made it clear that God blesses those who observe justice and do righteousness at all times. (Psalm 106:3) This is a huge subject in America today. People are concerned about justice being done in all areas of our society. Their concern is well founded, because equal justice is promised under our constitution, and it is God's will, too. However, for years justice in America has been eroding for various reasons, until it is a rare commodity today.

Why is it so hard to observe justice and do righteousness all of the time? Justice is tied to God's law. When we observe justice, we will do what God would do, and we will uphold His law in the way He would. The big problem is that so many people do not know the Lord or His Word, so how can they observe justice? They render verdicts based on their interpretations of man's laws which are not always just, because they are not God's ways. Also, when we have people who do not know the Lord rendering justice, they may be suffering from a wrong attitude toward people, so they may be too lenient or too harsh based on their attitude toward the people seeking justice. Therefore, the only way to have a blessed justice system is to return to the Lord and His Word fully. It is to experience a real awakening. Then, people with clean hearts operating by God's laws will do righteousness all the time and be blessed, as well as being blessings to others.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 107-110.
