God Carries Us

There are many times in our lives when we face enemies who are too strong for us, we have trials that are too difficult for us to withstand. At those times we must depend on the Lord even more, knowing that He will fight for us, and He will carry us through if that is what it takes. That is the spiritual truth Moses tried to teach the people of Israel before they went into the Promised land. (Deuteronomy 1:30,31) The sad fact is that the people still listened to the bad report of the 10 spies who decided that God could not defeat the giants of the land, and a whole generation died before their children trusted God and took the land. What should that teach us?

Once God saves us, we can look back and see how He worked miracles to bring us to Christ, and we can see how He was working in our lives over and over. Therefore, why would we ever doubt God? We are like Israel too often. We do not think God would fight for us, or carry us, because we have our focus on the enemies and our trials instead of having it on the Lord. Let's be determined to never forget God's work in our lives and His great love for us. Let's never doubt that whatever He says for us to do is possible, because the Lord can carry us if we are in need, and He can empower us with whatever we need to do His will.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 2-5.
