Nothing is Too Difficult for the Lord
The prophet Jeremiah lived in a terrible time for the country of Judah. They were being overcome by the Babylonians, who surrounded Jerusalem until people were starving to death. Then, they would be taken to Babylon in exile. All of this was God's punishment for their idolatry. However, God promised to bring the people back after 70 years of exile, and Jeremiah believed that God could and would do that, so much that he bought a piece of land from his cousin to show his faith that God could do anything. (Jeremiah 32:17) We need to have that same type of faith in the Lord today.
God made the heavens and the earth from nothing by His great power and wisdom. How could there be anything too difficult for Him? It all comes down to whether we believe He is real, and He is the Creator of all things. If we truly believe that He is, then it follows that He can do anything except the wrong thing, even become a man and die of the cross for our sins. Therefore, we must not pray thinking something is impossible for the Lord. We must pray in faith, knowing He can, if it is His will. Then, when we pray according to His will, He is always faithful to answer us, no matter how incredible it might be.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 33-36.
