Moral Relativism
The culture in the USA is in a very serious state of decay, because our people have rejected moral absolutes, and they have embraced moral relativism. This is leading to all types of perversions, because people are able to do whatever they think is right in their own eyes. This is the same type of cultural situation that existed near the end of the period of the judges in Israel. (Judges 17:6) It is hard to believe that God's people descended to this depth of depravity, but it happens whenever a society rejects moral absolutes.
God knew human nature from the beginning, because He made man. There was never a time that people did not have rules, but they rebelled against those rules. This led to more and more sin. The flood in Noah's day was necessary because of the consequences of this situation. However, even after God gave the law to Moses at Sinai, people did not want to abide by His laws. They desired freedom, but they did not realize moral freedom leads to the bondage of sin. It is impossible to simply sin a little and stop at that point, since Satan leads us to gratify our human appetites more and more until we are addicted to certain sins. That is why we need to get back to God's moral laws in the USA. They are what is best for us, not what we think is right in our own eyes. For this to happen, God's people must pray earnestly, confessing our sins in humility, and cry out to God for a genuine awakening. When that happens, hearts are changed when people trust Jesus as Lord and people submit to God and His laws. I pray that you will join me in praying in that way every day. It is our only hope.
Tomorrow, i intend to read Judges 20-21 and Ruth 1.
