God was Moved by Prayer
Sometimes God is not moved by our prayers, because He is waiting for us to be obedient to what we know He wants us to do. It is a matter of keeping His priorities and doing the right thing. If we do not do that first, He is not moved when we pray. David saw that happen, when he returned to the throne after the rebellion of Absalom. He set out to atone for the sin of Saul when he killed the Gibeonites with whom Israel has made a covenant during the days of Joshua. Also, he commanded for the bones of Saul and Jonathan to be laid to rest in the grave of Kish, Saul's father. Once those two things were done, God was moved by their prayers. (II Samuel 21:14) Let's apply this truth to our lives.
If you feel that God is not hearing your prayers so that He is moved to act on your behalf, ask Him to show you the last things He told you to do. Take time to consider those things. Have you done them? Have you completed them or just done them half way? What we do after God tells us to do something, shows what we believe. If we obey God, we believe He is Lord, and we must follow His commands. If we fail to do His will, after He clearly shows us, then, we are telling God that we are Lord of our own lives. If that is the case, He will not be moved by our prayers, because we think we are Lord, not Him. He will show us who is Lord by allowing us to try to do things on our own. Of course, that won't work, so we are driven to Him and to obedience. Then, He will be moved by our sincere prayers to Him as Lord.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Samuel 22 -24.
