God Desires All to be Saved
God loves every person in the world. That love leads to a desire for all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (I Timothy 2:3,4) He reveals Himself to all of us, and He desires for us to respond in faith, but He does not force us to trust Jesus as Lord and Savior. He wants us to love Him back, and to choose to enter a faith relationship with Him. If we do, He saves us by His grace, not based on our works or merit. His plan of salvation is for all people.
We are to be like God once we come to know Christ. Therefore, we should desire for all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. We should ask God to give us His heart of love, and an urgency to see all people come to Christ. Then, we should do all we can do to live for Him, and to reveal His truth to everyone with whom we have contact. That is part of His plan, since He desires for all to be saved, and He desires for us to be part of the process of reaching them. I pray that all of us, as believers, will have this fervent desire and do all we can to share Christ wherever we go.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Timothy 3-6.
