There is Nothing Too Hard for God

It ought to be obvious that nothing is too hard for the God who created the heavens and the earth by His great power. (Jeremiah 32:17) However, I believe we often doubt God's ability to do certain things for us and for others. That doubt shows that we do not know God well, or we do not trust Him enough. Either option is very serious.

Have we ever said to ourselves, "That person will never be saved?" How could we say that? Is God unable to convict them of their sins, so that they see their need for Him? Can we see his or her heart, so that we know what they will do with certainty? I don't think either of those is the case, but I think we often put limits on what we think God can and will do.

What about the need for a job or for financial provision? Do we think God can bless a little, but not a lot? Do we think God can give an ordinary job, but not a good job? Do we limit God to providing just a little money? We must never limit God in our thinking, because then, we limit what we ask for in prayer. God wants us to depend on Him for our entire need, not just part of it.

Why not just believe that God can do anything and trust Him to do whatever is within His will? Just because we ask for the something big, doesn't mean it is His will. However, if we do not ask for big things, it shows our faith is too small.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 33-36.
