God's Wisdom to Administer Justice

Solomon became king after David died. God asked him what he would like for Him to do for him. Solomon was humble enough and wise enough to ask for an understanding heart to rule the people well. God blessed him with more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had. In fact, when the people heard of his judgments, they feared the king with great respect, because they all saw that he had the wisdom of God to administer justice. (I Kings 3:28) We all need that kind of wisdom from the Lord, but we especially need leaders who have this great wisdom.

Just think about the results of God's blessing on Solomon. The people of God were unified when they all heard of Solomon's judgment, and they all had respect for the king. That is a unity that from which our country would greatly benefit at this time. Also, it was a unity based on righteous judgment. Solomon was able to take a very difficult problem and give a solution that was unmistakably wise. People were left speechless by his wisdom. Our country needs this type of leader, because our problems are huge, and it will take God's wisdom to give solutions that are recognized by all the people, so that we will be unified. Would you join me in praying for a leader who would have God's wisdom to administer justice in America? I believe that is what we need.

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Kings 6-8.
