The Path to Success
The Lord made it plain to Joshua what he had to do to have good success leading the people into the Promised Land. (Joshua 1:8) Many people know this verse, and they may even try to say that it applies to their life. However, if they do not go down the path to success laid our by the Lord, they will never reach their destination.
The path to success begins with the book of the Law. It shall not depart from our mouth. That means we need to read it and speak it, so that everyone knows the will of God, as He has laid it out in His Word. Therefore, when we speak, we must make sure that what we say conforms to God's law.
Then, the path proceeds when we meditate on the Law of God day and night. It is not enough to know the law in a shallow way, but we must digest it by meditating on it. That way we understand what God is saying, and we can use it well.
Finally, the path to success boils down to observing the Law of God. It is not what we read, speak, or meditate upon that brings success. It is what we do, because we have come to know the law of God thoroughly. Once we get to the point that we consistently live out the law, we will begin to enjoy success.
The path is long, and it takes discipline to walk it. However, the rewards are worth the effort many times over.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Joshua 2-5.
