Morning and Night
Our lives are made up of days. Sometimes, we do not focus on the days, but on the months and years. If we do not make the most of every day, our months and years will not go well. We will allow them to slip away without doing what God has for us. When God gave the commandments to the priests in Leviticus, He told them to begin every day with an offering to the Lord and to end every day with an offering to the Lord. (Leviticus 6:20) This was to begin on the day the priest was anointed and continue the rest of his life. This is a profound principle for all of us, as believers, today.
How do you start and end your days? Remember, now all believers are priests before the Lord from the day we are saved. Would it not be best to offer ourselves to the Lord every morning before we go into our day? That way we make sure that He is in control of all we do that day. Then, if we end the day by offering ourselves to the Lord, we make sure that in whatever ways we failed Him, we can confess those things and be ready to sleep with a clear mind and heart.
I pray that all of us will determine to spend time offering ourselves to God every morning and night. Then, we will see what He can do in our lives to make them fulfilling and whole.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Leviticus 7-10.
