The Throne of Grace
We all need grace. Grace is getting more than we deserve. The author of Hebrews admonishes us to come boldly to the throne of grace, so we can receive mercy and find help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16) How often do you go to the throne of grace?
God is love, so He treats everyone in a gracious way. He always gives us more than we deserve. However, the more His children go to His throne, the more grace He pours out. Jesus is our Mediator, and He was tempted in all points like we are, yet He never sinned. When we come to God's throne of grace, we can come boldly because we know Jesus understands what we are going through. He takes our requests to the Father, and when He explains it to Him, He is even more inclined to give us mercy when we fail. Mercy is not getting as much punishment as we deserve. Jesus knows we need mercy, because we are just dust.
However, He also gives us help in time of need when we go to the throne of grace. If we will go before we fail, the help will keep us from failing. This is all by the grace of God, since we do not merit His favor or earn His help. He just loves us, and pours out His blessings on us, especially when we go to His throne of grace in prayer.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Hebrews 7-9.
