A Time of Great trouble
No one likes to go through times of trouble in our lives and in our world. Those are the heart stopping, gut wrenching times of life that test us to the very core of our being. Unfortunately, at the end of time there will be a time of trouble such as there never has been before. (Daniel 12:1) We do not know when this time will occur, but we all need to prepare for that time, since it could be soon.
Many people refer to this time of great trouble as the Tribulation or the Great Tribulation. It will be a time when all people would be killed or die from other causes if God did not cut it short. Israel will be protected by the Archangel Michael, their guardian angel. He will stand watch over them, because they will have turned to Christ as their Lord and Savior after experiencing the events leading up to this time.(Romans 11:25-27) It will be a time of great trouble, but God will see them through until Jesus returns to reign from His throne in Jerusalem.
However, there will be other believers in Jesus, who will be killed or die of starvation. We might think that is harsh or unmerciful for God to allow that to happen, but it isn't. The reality is that once they die, and they are released from this world, they go directly into the presence of the Lord, and all of their troubles will be forgotten in the face of the glory of heaven.(Romans 8:18; Revelation 7:9-17) Therefore, the only way to prepare for this time of great trouble is to make sure you know Jesus Christ as your own personal Lord and Savior, so that your name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life.(Revelation 21:27)
Tomorrow, I intend to read Hosea 2-4.
