Don't Labor in Vain
Building families, building churches, and building countries are all very important. Guarding our families, our churches, and our countries is equally important. So what is the key to building and guarding? The Lord is the key, because if we build or guard without the Lord, our work is in vain. (Psalm 127:1) I am afraid there are a lot of people who have forgotten this vital truth.
Many people take their children to church, but they do not depend on the Lord to build their family. Many people work hard to build a church, but they do not trust the Lord and follow His way of building. Countries are built over many years by many people, but not very many of them are asking God what to do. Every family, church, and country that does not seek the Lord and obey His will in their plans and priorities will crumble in the end when the pressure is turned on. However, the opposite is also true. What God builds always endures, and it is the best quality.
We can try to guard our kids, our churches and our country, but someone or something will defeat us, unless we are depending on the Lord to be our Guard. He can always keep us safe, but without Him, our defenses will fail.
I believe we need to make it a huge matter of prayer to lift up our families, our churches, and our country to the Lord. What do you think? Then, why don't we do it, and never stop doing it?
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 130-132.
