Out of the Ash Heap
God specializes in lifting people up. He loves to lift the poor out of the dust and the needy out of the ash heap.(Psalm 113:7,8) That is just His heart for the poor and needy. Then, He seats them with princes to top it off. What an Awesome God!
This does not mean that God does this for every poor person and every needy person. When Jesus was on earth, He told His disciples there would always be poor people. So, what does it mean. It is an indication of the power of God and what God's heart leads Him to do in many cases. He looks out for the underdog. He loves to turn the tables, so that people will be stunned by His grace in their lives.
These two verses should give hope to all of us. We should know that no matter what our circumstances, God could lift us up and seat us with the princes at any time. Then, even if He chooses not to do that, if we know Him, He will take us to heaven with Him in the end. Therefore, we always have hope in God and His heart for those who have needs.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 115-117.
