Peace from the Lord of Peace
Christmas is all about peace. Jesus Christ was born to bring peace. He is the Prince of Peace, and He is the Lord of peace, who wants to give you His peace in every situation.(II Thessalonians 3:16) Are you experiencing that peace from the Lord Jesus?
We begin to experience Christ's peace when we trust Him as Lord and Savior. His sacrificial death for us paid sin's penalty, so we could have peace with God. Once we trust Him, we are no longer separated from God by our sins, but we have peace with God and access into His grace.(Romans 5:1,2) This is eternal peace, because we adopted into God's family, and we have a place in heaven forever.
Then, for the rest of our life on earth we can have the peace that passes understanding, as we cease from worry and trust Christ in prayer for all of our needs.(Philippians 4:6,7) This peace comes in all ways, since we have all kinds of needs. However, that peace is the calm assurance that the Lord will take care of us no matter what situations come. This does not mean He removes all conflicts and strife. It means He gives us His peace in the midst of conflicts and strife. He even gives us peace in the valley of the shadow of death.
This Christmas I pray you will have His peace in full measure and share the Lord of peace with others who need Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Timothy 2-4.
