Fewer Words and a Calm Spirit
If we have knowledge and understanding, we will spare our words and have a calm spirit.(Proverbs 17:27) This is hard for most people to understand, so it shows a lack of knowledge and understanding. We need to consider this verse closely.
It is true that when we really have knowledge of a subject, we will use less words to explain it. However, it is also important for us to know that more words, do not help us communicate with others. People get lost in many words. We have a far greater impact when we use less words. Others listen more and comprehend more.
When we have understanding from the Lord, we will have a calm spirit. We will know that strife and contention do not solve problems or accomplish things. That will give us assurance that we can calmly address things with people and accomplish much more.
Let's take the Lord at His Word. Let's use fewer words and have a calm spirit, so we can see what He will do.
