Disagreeing with God
We better be careful when we feel like disagreeing with God and His Word. Solomon assures us that there is no wisdom, understanding, or counsel against God.(Proverbs 21:30) After all, He is God. However, sometimes, we think we could do better than He does. That thought is always false.
Wisdom is seeing things from God's perspective. He is eternal. He is outside of time and space, so He sees the past, present, and the future all at once and all of the time. There is no way that we finite humans can have a perspective better than that. Most of the time our hind-sight is not even 20/20.
God created everything, so He has perfect understanding of how everything works and how it works together. Can you really think of a plausible theory of how matter appeared and how the universe was formed, outside of God creating it? I don't think you can, if you are honest with the scientific facts. It takes intelligence to create order; it does not evolve from nothing. Therefore, we can't have a more correct understanding of everything than God.
Can you make a case against God that will hold up in His court when you stand before Him? Sure, you might be able to convince some people of your point of view and philosophy of life. However, that does not shake God from His throne. It does not convict God of doing wrong. He is righteous, and we are not. His counsel will always stand, not ours.
I would encourage all of us to reconsider any disagreement with have with God before we have to stand before Him and come to agree with Him, especially about Jesus being Lord of all.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Proverbs 22-25.
