Don't Be Fooled
Great men are not always wise. Aged people do not always understand justice.(Job 32:9) We can be fooled at times because we forget this. Don't let that happen to you.
Greatness is being famous. A person can be famous for many reasons and a lot of them are not because of being wise. In fact, if an actor or a musician speaks his or her mind, we need to really stop and consider the validity. They are really ordinary people who have made it big, but they may be very foolish people. Our culture has been led away from the truth and wisdom, because we have followed "great" people, and we have taken their opinions to be wisdom. Please, test everything by God's Word. Wisdom only comes from God.
Older people have not always learned what is just and right. They may have a slanted view of reality and justice. Just because a person has lived a long time does not mean we should follow their advice. Some people have bitterness, fears, and prejudices that lead them to a false understanding of justice. Again, we need to look at what the Word of God says about justice and not take anyone's word for it.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Job 36-38.
