A Stronghold in the Day of Trouble
We all have troubles. Jesus said that while we are in this world, we will have tribulation. There is no way to escape them, but there is help. God is our stronghold in the day of trouble.(Nahum 1:7) Who or what do you trust to get through your troubles? If we asked God about who or what you trust, what would He say? I believe that is the real question.
Nahum lived in a time of troubles. He knew that God is always good. He knew that anyone can trust God and run to Him as a fortress in times of trouble. God has the answers to our trials and troubles. However, He knows those who trust Him. He knows those who take advantage of His goodness and strength. He knows those who say they trust Him and depend on Him, but who do not really trust Him. His view is the one that really shows the reality.
If we have a trouble pop up, do we pray first or create a plan on our own first? If we experience a challenge, do we complain first, or do we run to the Lord for strength and protection? If we have a need, do we ask others for help before we ask Him? Believe me, He knows, so just be honest with yourself and God.
We must set our default position to trusting God as our stronghold in the day of trouble. Nothing else will bring victory. Nothing less is trusting Him, and He knows our hearts. He wants to be able to say, "Stan Jordan is one of those who trusts Me." I want Him to know that without a doubt.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Nahum 2-3 and Habakkuk 1.
