Secure in the Lord
Worry can be a huge problem. It can cause all types of heartache and confusion in our lives. God does not want us to worry. In fact, He wants us to be secure in our relationship with Him.(Habakkuk 1:12) He wants us to know that He is on our side, and He will bring His enemies to judgment and correction, but we will be alright. When we are going through trials, this truth should bring us comfort and peace of mind.
God is the Everlasting Lord of our lives, if we have put our trust in Him personally. Once we know Him, we will not die. Yes, we will die physically unless Jesus returns for us. However, we will simply move from here to Heaven when we leave this body, so that we never cease to exist. We begin to live in a perfect place with all of the comforts of being with the Lord Jesus and other believers.
Those who don't know Him do not have this assurance. They are facing imminent judgment and punishment. It may not happen today, tomorrow, next week, or next month, but it will surely come. When we see the non-believers prospering, we doubt this, and we wonder what is going on. We should not have that reaction. We should rest in God's justice and His sure punishment of sin.
In the end it is all going to work out in favor of God's people. If you are one of His, you have no cause for alarm and worry. Just keep trusting Him one day at a time. He will take care of the rest.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Habakkuk 2-3 and Zephaniah 1-2.
