The Lord Reigns!
There is one reality that needs to be proclaimed to everyone: The Lord reigns!(I Chronicles 16:31) When David was inspired by God to write this psalm that we have recorded in I Chronicles 16, he wanted every people group or nation in the world to know that the One True and Living God reigns. This is the consistent message of the Bible.
We have a lot of people who are proclaiming that Jesus is the Savior of the world, which is very true. However, before Jesus was the Savior, He was Lord of all. He always has been and always will be the Lord. The main thing for us to proclaim to all peoples is that Jesus is Lord, so we need to trust Him, honor Him and obey Him, as such. Then, we follow that with repentance because we realize the Holy God reigns. We follow that with faith that Jesus died and rose again to save us from our sins, because only the Lord of all could do that. We trust Him the rest of our lives as Lord, or we don't trust Him at all, because He reigns.
As we proclaim that the Lord reigns, we are proclaiming an essential reality. Then, the question is, "Does He reign in your life as your personal Lord and Savior?" He will not force you to confess Him as Lord of your life. That is up to you. Now you know, "The Lord reigns." However, does He reign in your life?
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Chronicles 17-20
