Never Give Up On People

It is very easy to give up on people when they disappoint you. However, the Lord makes it clear that if we stop praying for them, it is a sin.(I Samuel 12:23) This is especially true when we are a spiritual leader to them, like a pastor, teacher, or parent. We must not allow ourselves to fall into the sin of prayerlessness by giving up on them.

God can change any heart. God loves every person. Therefore, there is always hope for anyone who has not committed the unforgivable sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. However, we can't tell if they have committed such a sin, so we must continue to pray for them, teach them, and show them what is good and right. Then, God can work on them to bring them to repentance in a strong way.

Think about your life. Have you given up on anyone? Have you stopped praying for them, because you decided it was a hopeless situation? Are you able to see what God sees, or has He directly told you to stop praying? If not, please, keep them on your prayer list. Keep praying and reaching out, as God gives you opportunity. With God there is great hope for anyone.

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Samuel 15-17.
