Choose Life!
You have a choice. The Israelites had a choice. Everyone has a choice. We can choose life or death, blessing or cursing.(Deuteronomy 30:19) Moses set out the covenant to the people by writing out all of the law, which the Lord had revealed to him. Then, he called them to choose to love the Lord and to follow His laws. That was the road to life and blessing then, and it is still the road to life and blessing today. What will you choose?
God reveals Himself to everyone, as I have shown before in these posts.(Romans 1:18-32) He sets before us our choice to trust Him and to love Him or not. Then, we choose to love Him or reject Him. There is no middle ground. He is Lord of all, or He is not Lord at all. The only difference between us and the Israelites is that God has revealed Himself even more to us by sending Jesus and by inspiring His entire Word to be written for us. We have every opportunity to choose life.
Remember, God is love. He desires for all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. He desires all to come to repentance and to have eternal life. He faithfully and lovingly reveals Himself to every person no matter where they live by showing Himself through His creation and by speaking to their hearts. Then, they can choose to love Him. Once they make that first choice, He can and will send them more and more revelations of Himself, until they come to know Christ as Lord and Savior. That is how much He loves every person who is born. No one is left out. We all have the opportunity to choose life.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 32-34.
