A Recipe For Disaster
God has made one thing very clear. It is disastrous to allow people to do whatever they think is right.(Deuteronomy 12:8) Think about the tower of Babel. Look at the condition of our society and our world today. This is the result of everyone doing what is right in their own eyes. It never has worked, and it never will work.
God is Absolutely All-Wise and All-Powerful. He has given us absolute truth by giving us His Word and by sending Jesus, the Truth, to earth. The only way to know how to live is to know Christ and to follow His Word.
Consider this for a minute. There are 4 people lost in a remote part of Alaska. There is only one town within walking distance, and it is 40 miles to the east. The group talks about their problem. One person believes sincerely he needs to go west, one believes he needs to go north, one believes he needs to go south, and one believes he needs to go east. It does not matter how sincerely they believe what they believe. The only thing that matters is the truth. The only one that will be saved from death is the one who walks to the east.
We must seek truth, not our own way. People can justify any type of behavior. However, if there is an Absolute God and Absolute Truth, then, it is the only right way to live and act. God has given us plenty of evidence that He is real and that His Word is true, but most people are not listening to the evidence, because they are too set on doing what is right in their own eyes. That is a recipe for disaster.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 15-17.
