A Heart of Surrender
In general we do not think of surrendering as a good thing. We want to conquer and to be in control. However, we must come to the place of surrender with the Lord. We surrender our heart to Him by trusting Him completely, and confessing He is Lord. Our surrender of faith leads to a life of surrender to His commandments, so that life can go well for us and for our children.(Deuteronomy 5:29)
Do you have a heart of surrender? Have you come to the place in your life where your heart fears God and is ready to keep all of His commands? That is a heart of surrender. It is the only way to the Lord. It is the only way to live.
Once we surrender in faith, He forgives us of our sins. Once we have a heart of surrender, we keep His commands, and He blesses us. Then, we stay surrendered, even though it is against our human nature. We resist the temptation to be self absorbed. By having a heart of surrender we are absorbed by Him.
I pray that we all have come to understand that we can't save ourselves from our sins, so we have surrendered to Him who can save us by placing our faith in Jesus alone. I pray that we have realized we can't live without Him, so we stay surrendered each day to obey Him. Let's keep a heart of surrender and see what He does in us and through us for His glory.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 6-8.
