That All May Know

God's desire is for all people to know that He is Lord of all, so they can trust Him and become part of His family. This was the case in Moses' time in Egypt, and it is still the case today.(Exodus 7:5) God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Even the plagues in Egypt were sent so that the people of Egypt from the Pharaoh down to the very last person in that place could see that the God of Moses  was Lord. Therefore, even the pain of the 10 plagues was redemptive in nature. God was proving Himself to them using people and miracles.

Jesus gave the Great Commission before He returned to Heaven after His death and resurrection.(Matthew 28:19,20) His desire was clear. He wants us to make disciples in all of the people groups of the earth so that everyone has the ability to hear the way of salvation and trust Him as Lord. God's desire will not change. He loves everyone, and He has sent us like He sent Moses. He has empowered us, even to work miracles, like Moses. He wants everyone to see that He is Lord.

The question is: "Do we have the same desire God has for everyone in this world, or are we more concerned about our comfort?" Moses could have said no to God. Aaron could have said no to God. I am glad they answered God's call, so God did not have to send someone else. Will we answer the call? Will we make disciples who make disciples that all may know Him? I pray that God's desire will be our desire, and we will follow Him wherever He leads us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Exodus 10-13.
