Speak to us Smooth Things

Beware of smooth talkers! Watch out for those who speak falsehoods in a slick way, instead of speaking the truth. It is easy to fall into the trap of just wanting to hear things with which we agree. We need to learn the truth, no matter how difficult it is to hear it.(Isaiah 30:9,10)

People like to be comfortable. People are drawn to pleasure. People get into ruts in life. This leads us to allow our minds to fall asleep, so that we do not listen to things that we don't want to hear. We can even get to the place where we want to listen to a lie. We don't want seers and prophets to direct us in the difficult ways of life. We want them to speak smoothly and to deceive us.

This is human nature, but it is very destructive. Let's seek out the truth from the prophets and the seers of our day, and let's help to spread the truth to those who need to hear it.
