Having a Mind Stayed on the Lord
Isaiah 26 gives a pretty remarkable contrast and a challenge for all of us. We can be one of those whose mind is "stayed" on the Lord, or we can be one who just calls on the Lord when we have trouble.(Isaiah 26:3,4) The results of the two are astoundingly opposite.
If we have our minds stayed on Him, we will desire Him at night, seek Him early in the morning, and stay focused on Him all day long.(Isaiah 26:9) Then, when we hear from Him, we will share His judgments, His law, with others, so the people will learn His righteousness. The result of all of this will be that He will keep our minds in perfect peace.
If we only call on the Lord when we have trouble, it will be totally different. We will be like a woman who is having a baby. Our pains will get worse and worse. We will cry out to Him to accomplish His will and bring the baby soon, but the only result will be "wind," no baby just air will be delivered.(Isaiah 26:16-18) God will not hear us. We will not have peace, and He will not answer our prayers for deliverance.
Therefore, if you want to see your prayers answered by God, and you want to live in perfect peace, keep your mind stayed on Him all day every day, while letting everyone know about the Lord and His ways.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 27-30.
