The Power of the Tongue
God has given each of us a powerful tool to bless others. However, if it is used badly, it brings death, instead of life.(Proverbs 18:21) It is the tongue. Be careful how you use it!
Think of the ways that your life has been enhanced by what someone said to you. Remember the times you heard the Good News of Jesus and how you trusted Him as Lord for eternal salvation. Remember how you were taught the truths of the Lord and His Word, so that you began to grow in your life. Think about the power of the blessings people have pronounced on you.
Also, think of the hurt caused by what people have said to you. Think of the rejection and pain. Has it caused anger or resentment in your life? If so, that is working death and destruction, so it must be rooted out for your life to advance. It all came from someone's tongue guided by Satan who wants to destroy as many people as possible.
Ask God's Spirit to guard your tongue, so you use it for life and not death.
