Christmas Lights
We took a little time after supper this evening, and we drove around looking at lights. There are a good number of houses in our area that are quite elaborate. The main reason we went was to show Jacob the lights. He especially likes the trains. He says "Choo Choo" very well. The truth is that he likes anything with wheels, but trains seem to be a favorite because of Thomas. I didn't know anything about Thomas, the train, until Jacob came. There were several homes with lighted trains. He loved them.
I think the lights are appropriate for Christmas, don't you? The stars were out that night when the angel appeared to the shepherds for the wonderful announcement of Jesus' birth. There was the star that led the Magi to Him. Also, John tells us that Jesus is the True Light. What a fitting way to describe the Lord and Savior. We were lost in darkness, and He came as the Light to show us the way to salvation. In fact, He is the Way, so He not only shines the light, but He made the way for us.
I hope every time you see Christmas lights that you will think of the True Light and all He has done for us all.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Peter 1-3.
