The Power of Prayer
We may not know exactly how God works His will and still answers our prayers, but we can be assured that He does answer prayer. He loves to respond to our faith. He longs to reward our passionate cries for Him to intervene. Our prayers really make a difference.
For the past month or so, we have met on Wednesday mornings at the Pregnancy Resource Center to pray for our fall banquet, which is the main fund raising effort for the year. Those of us who have been gathering to pray know that God is hearing, and He will answer in His own way. I can't wait to see what happens at the banquet next week.
We send out prayer requests to our church family on a regular basis. Yesterday, there was a serious condition facing the mother of one of our members, so we began to pray. Today, I went to see her in the hospital, and she was 100% better. I believe that was an answer to our prayers.
Each Wednesday we meet for a prayer meeting at our church building. It is not an elaborate service. It is a sincere time of prayer. Tonight, we were able to begin our prayer time by praising God and thanking Him for the answers to the prayers we have been praying for the last week or so. We are seeing God move in response to our simple prayers. What a blessing!
I pray that you can say the same thing. If not, try it. Pray in faith according to God's Word and watch to see what God does. Be consistent and persistent. Then, see what God does. He is ready and willing to answer according to His will.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Luke 15-17.
