Christ's Hands and Feet
Jesus started His ministry at about 30 years of age. Approximately three years later He was put to death on a Cross for our sins. Three days later He rose from the dead and appeared to His disciples for forty days. During that time He made sure that they knew He was going to send the Spirit to fill them and empower them to be His witnesses to the world, because it was their responsibility to let the whole world know the Good News of His death and resurrection. On the fortieth day He ascended back to Heaven. They waited another ten days while praying in one accord before the Spirit came to live in them. He has lived in all believers since that day of Pentecost. Those Spirit-led believers are the church, the Body of Christ. Now, we are His hands and feet. We are His voice to this world. If we do not let people see Jesus in us and hear about Him through us, they will never know. However, we have all we need to be effective, if we will trust Him.
Where is He calling you to go for Him? It may be next door or around the world. We must obey and go. Who is He calling you to reach and to hug? We must love in His Name. His hands and feet must keep going until Jesus comes back again to take us to be with Him. Will He find us being faithful when He comes? I pray that He will.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Luke 6-8.
