Lying
When a person fails to tell the truth, it is a serious situation. Relationships are based on trust. Deception and lies break the trust. It destroys a person's reputation, when he lies to other people. Then, his words do not have the power they should have. Lying ruins lives.
All of that being true, there is one type of lying that is worse than lying to other people. When a person lies to himself, it is a crippling condition. They lie about their intentions. They lie about their problems. It is more than denial. It is self deception. A self-deceived person can't advance in life until he comes clean and begins to tell the truth to himself.
All of this is important, because Jesus is the Truth. Once a person knows Jesus, he or she is to operate in the truth all of the time. If there is a truth gap, it is a serious heart problem. The first step is to admit reality. Then, confess the sin, and finally, begin to live in truth, instead of falsehood. Then, Jesus can work things out for good.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 47-48 and Daniel 1.
