Caring for Your Cares
The message tonight at the Stockbridge Community worship service was brought by Steve Murrell, the pastor of First Baptist Stockbridge. He did an excellent job of explaining and illustrating the Scriptural promise in I Peter 5:7. The title was "Caring for Your Cares." I know each one in attendance from all of the different churches received a blessing from the message, and they will receive even more blessings, if they apply what they heard.
What do you do with your cares? Do you worry about them? That doesn't help a bit. It only makes things worse. Do you try to handle them yourself? That never works out well either. The only effective way to care for your cares is to give them to the One who cares for you, the Lord Jesus Christ. He can and will do the right thing to relieve the care or to give you the grace to bear it.
Just think about your life. How many times has Jesus come through for you? Why would He not do it again? We have to be willing to humble ourselves, and turn it all over to Him. Then, we must not pick it back up. We must leave it to Him. It is a matter of trust for us, and it is a matter of love for Him. He truly cares for us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Amos 7-9.
