Love in Action
I received a letter today from Franklin Graham telling about the work of his organization, Samaritan's Purse. They have bought expensive medical equipment for North Korea and China to aid the poor people in those countries, and to gain an opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It sounds like he has been very successful in breaking through the barriers, because of the love his organization has shown. I think it is a marvelous way to show Jesus to people. Our church just completed our drive for Christmas shoebox gifts, which will do the same thing through Samaritan's Purse.
Also, I went up to see the folks from our church doing the same type of ministry today. They were giving away free hot dogs for lunch, and the youth were praying for folks and giving away Bibles to families who do not have one. It was all free, and it was all love in action. I am sure it caused many people to stop, and it gave them a chance to think about the Lord and to be touched by the Gospel. That is how we want the world to think about the church. They should see the love of Christ flowing through us all of the time.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 1-2 and Hebrews 11:1-19.
