My Peace I give to You
Jesus is such a wonderful loving Savior. He does not just want to save us from our sins, He wants us to have a wonderful life here as well as in Heaven. Therefore, He gives His children His own peace.(John 14:27) It is not like the peace of this world. It is a substantial peace that is not dependent on circumstances. His peace is effective even in the worst of life's trials.
Think of Jesus. When He was ridiculed and spat upon, He returned love for the abuse. When they nailed Him to the Cross, He was quick to forgive. How was that possible? It was a product of His peace. That is the peace He gives to us who know Him.
I pray that each of us will be able to rejoice in that peace no matter what happens in our lives. Then, others will see the tangible peace and want the Prince of Peace. That is a real witness in this world of stress and strife.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 23-24 and John 15.
