It's a Boy!
Dixie had her baby boy today at 5:58 PM at Southern Regional Medical Center on the south side of Atlanta. This wasn't supposed to happen until March 6, but she went to her scheduled appointment at the high risk pregnancy doctor this morning, and he found her blood pressure to be too high. He sent her straight to the hospital, because of her aneurysm, and because of the fact that it was less risk to go ahead and have the baby than to risk a stoke.
I am very happy to report that both Dixie and her little boy are doing well. Dixie's blood pressure is still high, and she is having some nausea, but she is relieved that the baby is fine, and the delivery is over. Dixie has not made her final decision on the name, since he came so early, but he was 6 lbs. and 2 ozs. and he was 18 inches long. Please, pray for them to have a good night's rest. Chris is staying with them, so please, pray for her, too.
Before Dixie went in for the C-section we had a very good word of prayer together. I reminded everyone that God knew exactly what would happen today, and He was prepared to care for them. In fact, I am sure He had the doctor's visit planned to save them from worse consequences of the high blood pressure. That is how our Loving God works, as we submit to Him and ask for His provision, as Dixie has been doing. I am so glad to be able to give God all of the glory for working this out even though Dixie has various health problems. Now, we can all be assured that His grace is sufficient for whatever comes our way.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 7-8 and Mark 4:21-41.
